 Mental Arts Activities

Besides its official events, Carolingia has activities going on all the time. The following lists most of our guilds and regular practices. These are those arts and sciences that don't fit an easy category. Carolingia has a broad range of opportunities for the curious - everything from medieval games, to philosophy, to fortune-telling!

Fools’ Guild

The Fools’ Guild of Carolingia is a vast and all-pervasive society of those in the barony who act in a foolish manner. While it is loosely organized (if you can call it organization) the guild is ready at a moment’s notice to bring mirth and levity to any otherwise overly serious or solemn occasion.

The Low Company of Gamesters and Gamblers

The Low Company is the gaming group within Carolingia. It meets monthly, for further details on the next upcoming meeting, contact Master Justin (listed below). All are welcome, and games are taught every month; come on by!

Peasantry

The Peasants of Carolingia practice and explore the activities of the period household, field, and village. We look for the life and joy in the hard existance that characterized the middle ages for most of humanity. Most of the Peasants activities are individual workshops, and cooperation with other guild activities and events (past workshops include candlemaking, soap-making, and wheat havesting).

Fellowship of Philosophers

Carolingia's Fellowship of Philosophers includes all citizens of the Barony. Its purpose is to encourage thought, discussion, and reasoning about our Current Middle Ages and how they interface with both the Original Middle Ages and the modern world.

Soothsayers’ Guild

The Soothsayers’ Guild of Carolingia does its best to prognosticate the future. We research period fortune telling techniques, and occasionally dabble in other occult studies. Currently, a report is created each month that relates what the stars portend.
